How to play Durak online (rules in 3 minutes)
Durak is the most played card game in the Russian-speaking world: there is no winner, only one loser — the fool ("durak") left holding cards. It is quick to learn, viciously tactical, and perfect for online play.
01Learn the core loop
One player attacks with a card; the defender must beat it with a higher card of the same suit or a trump. Beaten attacks go to the discard pile; failed defenses go to the defender's hand.
02Respect the trump suit
Any trump beats any non-trump card, so low trumps are precious defensive tools. Spending them early to dodge small attacks is the classic beginner mistake.
03Count what is gone
Durak is a memory game in disguise. Tracking which high cards and trumps have been discarded tells you exactly when an endgame attack cannot be defended.
