Hornlift privacy policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026
MyAppDesk operates Hornlift for iPhone and Apple Watch. MyAppDesk is responsible for the personal information it processes for this app. Contact us at team@myappdesk.dev.
1. Training data and settings
Hornlift does not require a Hornlift account. Workouts, exercise names, sets, repetitions, weights, dates, routines and custom exercises are stored on your device. Training goals, experience level and preferences are used to configure the app. Progress statistics and next-weight suggestions are calculated on your device. Training content is not sent to an AI service or to MyAppDesk servers.
When iCloud is available, workouts, routines and custom exercises sync through your private CloudKit database, managed by Apple under your Apple Account. If iCloud cannot open the log, Hornlift saves it locally and tries again on a later launch. iCloud storage and device backups are governed by your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policy.
Hornlift shares training summaries and session state with its own widgets, shortcuts and paired Apple Watch so those features can display your log and control a workout. Widgets and Live Activities may show training information on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. You control their visibility through your device settings.
2. Apple Health and HealthKit
The Apple Watch companion requests permission to read heart rate and active energy burned and to save strength training workouts through HealthKit. Heart rate is displayed during the session. Completed watch workout sessions can be saved to Apple Health.
HealthKit information is used for these fitness functions. We do not send it to RevenueCat or MyAppDesk servers, sell it, or use it for advertising or marketing. Hornlift's private CloudKit training log is separate from Apple Health; the app does not copy HealthKit readings into that training database. Apple controls any synchronization of Apple Health data under your Apple settings.
You can refuse or revoke Health permissions in Apple Health or your device's privacy settings. This limits the related watch functions. Removing Hornlift does not automatically delete workouts already saved to Apple Health; you can manage those records in Apple Health.
3. Purchases and subscription information
Apple processes payments. We do not receive your full payment card details. Hornlift uses RevenueCat to load offers, validate purchases, restore purchases and determine access to Hornlift Pro.
RevenueCat processes an app user identifier generated by its SDK, purchase and subscription records, product identifiers, entitlement status and technical information such as app version, device platform and network information needed to deliver its service. Hornlift initializes this service when the app launches, including for people who have not purchased Pro. The identifier does not require a Hornlift login, but it can link subscription activity. Your workout log and HealthKit readings are not supplied to RevenueCat.
4. Support and other disclosures
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Avoid including health information that is not needed for your request. We use this information to respond and resolve support issues.
Hornlift does not include advertising trackers or a separate behavioral analytics service. The progress analytics shown inside the app are calculated from your training log. Apple may provide app diagnostics according to your device's diagnostic sharing settings.
We do not sell personal information. Apple and RevenueCat process information for the functions described above. We may disclose information we hold when legally required or necessary to protect legal rights. Exported CSV files and anything you share through the system share sheet go to the destination you select, whose handling of that information is outside our control.
5. Purposes and legal grounds
Where EU or UK data protection law applies, we process subscription information to provide the service and perform our contract with you. We process support correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering requests and maintaining the app, or to perform our contract when the request relates to that contract. We retain records where required by law. Optional access to health information requires your permission and, where applicable, explicit consent. You can withdraw that permission at any time through your device settings.
We do not use your information for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Training suggestions are informational calculations that you choose whether to follow.
6. Retention and deletion
Your training log remains on your device and, when enabled, in your private iCloud until you delete it. You can delete workouts and routines in the app. To remove other local app data, delete the app. Manage remaining iCloud data and backups in your Apple Account's storage settings; uninstalling alone may leave cloud data or backups that can return on reinstall. Apple Health records must be managed separately in Apple Health.
Purchase and subscription records remain with Apple and RevenueCat for subscription operation, fraud prevention and applicable legal obligations. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the request and meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion of information we or our service providers hold, subject to those obligations. We cannot directly read or delete your private iCloud training log or Apple Health records.
7. Your rights and international processing
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, request portability, and withdraw consent. Hornlift Pro includes CSV export of workouts. Statutory data rights do not depend on a Pro purchase; contact team@myappdesk.dev to exercise them. We may need information to verify your request or locate a subscription record. You can complain to your local data protection authority, including Spain's AEPD.
Apple and RevenueCat may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their privacy notices describe locations and safeguards for international transfers. Where required, transfers of information under our responsibility must use an applicable adequacy decision or other lawful safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about safeguards applicable to your data.
8. Security and children
We rely on device protections, Apple's private CloudKit storage and the security measures of our subscription provider. No storage or network service can guarantee complete security. Protect your device and Apple Account, and consider who can see your widgets or exports.
Hornlift is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information through support or subscription services. If you believe a child has supplied such information, contact us so we can address it. Additional local age and parental permission requirements may apply.
9. Changes and contact
We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice where required. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to team@myappdesk.dev.
